Music IS Service

I sat down yesterday with a good friend Russel Guess (@GuessV) at his studio and we discussed things about music and the music business whils listening to tracks and inspirations for future tracks.  He's a producer.  He made a profound statement in regards to his spiritual walk as it relates to music.  That music is service.

Think about it.  Everyone has had a moment where they have heard a song that has touch them, pulled on their emotions (why do you think they use soundtracks on movies?) or taken you back down memory lane.  A painter told Russel that he felt music was the most powerful artform because it pulls you in even before you understand the words, often leading to situations where you have to pause and truthfully evaluate "what it this that I listening to?"  Everyone has their song, jam or jawn.  I am sure even God has a few songs that He enjoys.

It has been said that you can rightly judge a culture by the music they listen to.  Perhaps there is some music you create or have heard that could change someones life.  So consider the powerful effect of music on a soul, and see how you may use it to be of service to others and connect in meaningful ways.

B.S.T.L

Your soul was purchased by God, so U should honor God with your body & all your energy.  Because He has the receipt.
1 Corinthians 6:20

God invested his BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS INTO YOU AND I.  When the bible speaks of the word of God being seeded and germenating, the harvest could be 30, 60, or 100 fold.  Sadly I find myself not folding so much.  I just talked with a good friend in the Lord and he was just expressing how difficult it can be to be separated from good believers we have come to depend on.  This is so true.  We all seek and enjoy good dependable people.

Did you know GOD is looking for us to be dependable investments.  This is done by giving ourselves over to God for His purpose for us.  We belong to God, like the vehicle you drive belongs to the person who purchased it.  Imagine you are trying to get to work and your car won't start, or starts when it feels like it.  Like once or twice a week.  You'd probably replace it.  Ever hear about that "axe at the root?"

BE YIELDERS

Let's yield to the Holy Spirit of GOD, and in turn yield returns of 30, 60, or even 100 fold.  Producing something for GOD to reinvest into the Kingdom.

LET'S REMEMBER THAT YIELDERS CAN'T BE PRODUCITIVE AND ALSO SCARED AT THE SAME TIME.

Let's give it our all. Our BLOOD, SWEAT, TEARS AND LIFE.

DONT BE SCURRED

Perhaps you have dealt with fear like I do, and it has not doubt paralyzed you from doing some really wonderful things.  If you have ever experienced GOD using you some some way, even a small way, you know how great it feels to be useful.  Like a child, there is not much we can do to be of use to OUR FATHER, but to be useful in service and faithful in love.  A great man once said that we all deal with fear, but there are things in life that are so important to be accomplished that he didn't allow fear to stop him.

WE ALL DEAL WITH FEAR, BUT NOT ALL OVERCOME IT.

Lets take a snapshot of King David's mindset.  I can only imagine that being a king comes with its share of fears, most would fold under the pressure.  If you look at the movie; "THE KING'S SPEECH" you understand the weight of such a position.

PSALM 21
4 He asked life of You,
You gave it to him,
Length of days forever and ever.
5 His glory is great through Your [c]salvation,
Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
6 For You make him [d]most blessed forever;
You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence.  7 For the king trusts in the LORD,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.

Big or small, there are many important things that MUST NEEDS BE DONE.

Lets not be like those who don't ever realize the great things GOD can do through us...lets be good faithful servants who walk boldly because we know who has our backs.

REACTION TIME

Ready?

Ever play that game where someone holds a stick just cenimeters from your open hand and the object is to see how quickly you can grasp the stick once its released?

The exercise is designed to measure your REACTION TIME.  Have you heard of it? Its the amount of time it takes for you to make a proper response to some occurrence.  Many apply it to Martial Arts or sports like baseball, but today, I want to apply it to life.
With so much going on these days, there are many things that can occupy our attention, but are you paying attention to the BIG PICTURE?

I want to speak, not on the speed you react, but on HOW you react.  Believe it or not, when it comes to right or wrong, there is no middle choice.  You can make imperfect "good" decisions but that is simply you being a work in progress.  Just like in martial arts or sports, you have to make practicing determinations on how you will react to the daily stuff, but that hinges solely on your BIG PICTURE DECISION.

Some people have made this decision and live it to the fullest every day...right or wrong.  Many of us however, are at the CROSSROADS everyday being indecisive.  God respects a cold heart more than one in-between.  Think about it, God doesn't have REACTION TIME issues, he sees everything coming, He controls how it comes.  We duck and dodge, peek around the corners...looking over our backs because we don't know what's going to happen.

NOW is our time to ACT.  NOW is the time to REACT.  God is doing His business RIGHT NOW and He wants you involved.

HOW WILL YOU REACT?

DON'T PAUSE FOR THE COMMAS

A wise man said to APPRECIATE & LEARN FROM the past, LIVE in the present like its your only day alive, and PREPARE for the future like your legacy will last for ever.

The problem is, when life throws us a comma, we usually treat it like "........................"

I am learning that when I do this, it is not because I am listening to GOD, but it results from me giving the devil the allegiance of my ear, and higher rank in my  WORLDVIEW.

COMMAS COME IN MANY FORMS
When life comes hard, or when we make mistakes, or we achieve a hard fought after goal, or when we fail, or when we are just plain tired and need a break. There should be no pauses.  By that I mean the kind where we are watching a good movie, pause the movie and get distracted for so long, the movie player goes to "sleep."
In the same way, our dreams and vision can go to sleep and we let it sit like a screen saver.

COULD HAVE....                      WHY DIDN'T I....

I REALLY WANTED TO.......                                                       SHOULD HAVE...

I WONDER....                                                                    WHAT IF I....

Eventually it dies away into "That stuff never works for me..." or "I was crazy to think it would work..." or "I don't think that is what God wanted for me..."

I say all of this to impress upon you to take a calculated risk.  Look at the goal God is pointing you in, then look at God's ability and as Martin always says...get to steppin.

WALK IN FAITH.
